We were instructed by the temporary works engineer to install propping and steel needles through the existing wall. We then braced this with scaffolding. This then enabled us to remove the masonry below. We then exposed the existing concrete footing and built two solid load bearing brick piers to take the new steel. Once the piers were built to height the steel was erected. The void between the steel and existing above masonry securely built and patched in. This allowed us to remove the the steel needles, propping and bracing. The new opening was formed.
